Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) Evaluation of Iron Standard Solution

Summery:

Performance of electrochemical devices must normally be checked by standard samples under defined conditions in order to be comparable with standard results. One of the aforementioned samples is Iron standard solution. In the following, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy technique was carried out and the results (i.e. Nyquist and Bode plots) were represented.

Instruments:

Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy test was performed using a Radstat10 Potentiostat/Galvanostat and Impedance analyzer along with “PGIsoft” associated software. Three electrodes including Ag/AgCl standard electrode containing saturated KCl in capillary, Glassy Carbon electrode used as working electrode, and counter electrode made of Platinum were mounted in an electrochemical cell containing the sample solution.

*The test was carried out more than one time in order to check repeadability.

Sample:

Sample was an aqueous solution consisted of 0.005 molar K2[Fe(CN)6], 0.005 molar K3[Fe(CN)6], and 0.1 molar KCl.
